Come and spend some time in our California beach house. You will be 30 minutes from San Francisco and a little over an hour from Sonoma -Napa wine country. There is marvelous summer light in the garden and on the ocean. A few of the winter shore birds are still hanging out and the summer birds have moved in. The other day, as I walked down to the bridge to get the morning newspaper, a Great Blue Heron was fishing the creek on one side of the bridge, a Snowy egret on the other. After a long walk on the beach or hike on Mt. Tamalpais, light up the wood-burning stove and enjoy the quite.

The house is an early 20th century west Marin farmhouse, lovingly updated over the years. It is on two levels with living room, kitchen, dining room, bedroom, office and bathroom with a Japanese soaking tub upstairs. The garden level has two-plus bedrooms with laundry room, WC, tub and shower. There is a hot tub and another screened shower in the back garden. The spacious main garden areas has three decks, an outdoor oven, two Weber charcoal grills and a fire pit. The house is one minute from the beach and a five minute walk from stores and cafes in downtown Stinson.. Will sleep six to eight comfortably. House comes completely furnished with linens, stereo and cable TV.

The weekly rate is $2100; $900 for a three-day weekend and $750 for a two-day weekend. That the rate is all inclusive, no cleaning charges or other unexpected costs.

There is a studio apartment on the garden level that sleeps two, with its own private deck.

Please note that this is not a resort-style rental, but a real home, filled with books, music and art that you can treat as your own home-away-from home during your stay.
